Emergency Co-ordinator

The Stebbing Parish Council are looking for an Emergency Co-ordinator to oversee and co-ordinate actions in the case of a major incident n the village.

A summary of the duties are as follows;

 

1. Phone 999

Describe type and location of incident.

Stress you are the village co-ordinator.

Indicate your location (usually the emergency centre).

Give name, address & telephone number incl. mobile.

Indicate scale of incident & casualties if known.

Identify hazards; road blockages etc (suggest access routes).

Emphasise that there is an emergency centre (school) and that this can be prepared as a forward command post and can be equipped with maps, list of residents and other relevant local data.

 

2. Contact Uttlesford Emergency Planning Officer. See page 21 of the plan for contact details

Provide above information, say that you have phoned 999 and that you do (or do not) intend to make nominated village buildings available for use (as per this plan).

 

3. Phone other village co-ordinators

Ensure that they are aware of the incident

Allocate duties (responsibilities for tasks below)

Ensure someone goes to the emergency centre if you have not already made your way there.

 

4. Inform the Chairman of the Parish Council

Brief him/her on the incident & actions taken

Remind him/her to inform the other councillors, see Page 12 of the plan for contact nos.

 

5. Stand-by Teams

If required ask key holders of nominated buildings (School, Village Hall, Old

Friends Meeting House, Scout Hut & Cricket Pavilion) to open their premises and

report back when this is done.

 

6. Contact neighbouring Parishes if necessary See contact list, see page 21 of the plan

 

7. Go to Emergency Centre

Proceed to school & set up village command post in general office with Emergency Services, Uttlesford Officers and Parish Council Chairman if present

 

Stebbing Summer Fayre

Will take place on 7th June from 1pm to 6pm at the Mill Lane playing field.

The fayre will include; a dog show, live music, craft stalls, a Punch and Judy show, bouncy castles, a forest school, a treasure hunt and much, much more.

Vintage Tractor Run

Will take place on 10th May. It will start in Stebbing, just after 10am and will go through various villages, finishing in Great Bardfleld at 2pm.

Weekend Garden Skip Collection

The weekend garden skip collection will commence in Stebbing on Sunday, 1st March. It will occur every Sunday between 9.45 and 10.45, off The Downs, Stebbing.
